Beauty Before the Wedding
One way to assure beauty on the wedding day is to start a healthy exercise and beauty regimen in the months before the wedding. The following tips will help you get ready for your big day. Start Eating For Healthy SkinYour diet can affect the way your skin looks. I tried the diet in The Perricone Prescription for several months last Fall and I can't tell you how many people raved about the way I looked. My skin was clear and glowing and I lost about 30 pounds. Join a Gym or Start WalkingYou want to be in the best shape ever for your new husband...so splurge a little and join a gym. Get a personal trainer and get to work! Can't afford a gym or personal trainer? Try an intensive but less expensive Boot Camp type training course. If you just can't afford any professional help, you are going to have to rely on your own will-power and discipline. Get out and start walking. Get your maid of honor to come along - but whatever you do get out and get some exercise! Drink A Lot of WaterStart drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. Yes, it sounds like a lot but its worth it. Water flushes toxins out of your system for clearer skin and better health. In addition, water helps you feel full thus eating less! In fact, next time you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water. You may find that you were just dehydrated. Substitute Green Tea for CoffeeGreen Tea has lots of antioxidant effects that are very healthy. Coffee, on the other hand, raises your stress levels because it increases the stress hormones in your body. Aren't you stressed enough? Skip the coffee and it will show in your skin! Get Regular FacialsGeneral skin exfoliation provided by good facials, removes dead skin cells from your face and makes your skin glow. Choose a salon and start getting facials every 5 weeks from now until the wedding day. You should NOT get a facial on the actual day of any event including your wedding or rehearsal dinner. You will find that your face is abnormally flushed immediately following a facial. You should actually allow at least a week between a facial and any special event. One final note on facials: they aren't for everyone. If you have bad acne, some facials may exacerbate the situation. Get Regular ManicuresRegular manicures help to keep your hands and fingernails in good condition. Ask about a parrafin wax treatment for extra smooth and soft hands. Book a Stylist and Makeup ArtistBook a hairstylist and makeup artist for your wedding day. Be sure to do this a couple of months in advance and go in for a trial run a couple of weeks before the wedding. Get Your Hair Professionally Cut and Colored Weeks Before the WeddingTo avoid the tell-tale signs of a new hairdo, have your hair cut and colored two to three weeks before the wedding. I suggest two weeks because hair color can start fading as early as 3 weeks after the treatment. Whatever you do, don't wait until a couple of days before the wedding. Sometimes it can take several days to weeks to fix major hairstylist mistakes. One more tip, if you are an avid at home amateur hair colorist, please splurge on a professional color treatment for your wedding. Too many at-home color treatments can leave your hair looking somewhat unnatural and dull. A professional stylist can usually correct any at-home color treatments if given enough time. If you have been coloring at home, you may want to start professional coloring several months before your wedding in case their color correction takes several treatments. Schedule a PedicureSchedule a pedicure for the day before the wedding. If you have never had a pedicure before you don't know what you are missing. Splurge for your wedding day and get a high end pedicure at a nice salon. Your feet will look gorgeous for your new husband, your tropical honeymoon, and usually a couple of weeks afterwards!
