Get In Shape Now: Stay In Shape For Your Wedding

No matter how far in the future your wedding is, it is important to get in the best physical condition you possibly can! And, while planning a wedding, it can be hard to find time to get to the gym.

Don't Starve Yourself - Eat Healthy

Whatever you do, don't starve yourself a month before the wedding. I know it can be a tempting way to shed those last few pounds. And, like many brides have found, it may be easy if you've lost your appetite due to pre-wedding jitters. A healthy diet and regular exercise is the only true way to get and stay in shape.

If you don't have good dietary habits now, you should learn before you get married and start a family. A healthy diet is low in saturated fat and is full of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. I lost a tremendous amount of weight healthily by following the diet described in The Perricone Prescription.

Get Regular Exercise

In addition to maintaining a healthy diet, you should begin a regular exercise program. You don't have to join a gym and get a personal trainer to see results - you just need to spend 30 minutes to an hour 3 to 4 times a week doing some simple stuff - stretching, jogging, push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, squats, jumping jacks, etc.

You can help your exercise program by thinking "fitness" at all times. For example, take the stairs at work instead of the elevator. Take the stairs in the mall instead of the escalator. Walk or ride your bike as much as possible. When shopping in the mall, walk as fast as possible without bothering other shoppers. Take a walk during your lunch hour. Do anything you can in your spare time to get even the least amount of exercise.

Try to get out and get walking or ride a stationary bicycle for at least half an hour 3 times a week to burn fat. Jogging first thing in the morning on an empty stomach 4 to 5 times per week is a great way to burn fat.

I recently took the Bridal Bootcamp in Atlanta offered by Atlanta Kick. It really whipped me into shape in a short period of time. If you aren't in the Atlanta area, try to find something like this Bootcamp in your area. It could really help you to get in shape for your big day.

Can anyone email me the quickest and fastest way to lose approximately 50 lbs. I am on the Atkins Diet right now, it seems to be working but just wondering if there was something extra I could do! purple_hanie@hotmail.com

I am a firm believer in the Atkins Diet. I lost 30 pounds in a short time on this plan.
