Save-The-Date cards are a great way to add a unique and personal touch to your wedding.
A couple of years ago I received a cute Save-The-Date card - it was a magnet with a beautiful photograph of the church on it. I put it on my refrigerator and I never forgot the date of the wedding! Anyway, I thought this was a cute idea so I called the bride who sent me the Save-The-Date magnet....
Photo Paper Glued to Magnet Stock
She told me that she printed the information on photo paper and then glued it with spray glue to the 8.5x11 magnet sheet. She then cut them all herself with a large paper-cutter and mailed them with a notecard. The picture above is of the Save-The-Date magnet.
Standard Save-The-Date Cards
Save-The-Date cards are a more modern idea and are generally just a small card with the wedding information on it. I have received several creative cards - one that included a photo of the couple, one had a small charm to represent the city where the wedding was to take place, and another was a postcard from the city where the wedding was held.

Electronic Save-The-Dates
More recently I have received two Save-The-Date emails from different services. Both were for smaller weddings and were certainly efficient. The only drawback was that I couldn't put something small and colorful on my refrigerator to remind me!

As far as I know there is no "standard" wording for Save-The-Date cards. Several brides exchanged posts about this topic on our bulletin board a couple of years ago. Click here to go to the transcript.
