Wedding Photography: Saving Tips

I strongly discourage cutting costs on wedding photography because the photos are one of the only ways to make your wedding last forever. You want your photos to be wonderful and to last forever, right? If, however, you are really strapped for cash, the following saving tips may help:
Choose a photographer who works out of his or her home - they often cost less because they have less overhead. |
Some, but not all, photographers offer discounts for days other than Saturday. If you need to cut costs you may look into getting married on any day other than Saturday. |
Skip the engagement and bridal portraits. |
If you must have a bridal portrait to hang in your home but you really can't afford it, have a photo from the wedding enlarged to 16 x 20 instead of getting a formal portrait. |
Skip the extras such as gift folios for the wedding party. |
Hire a professional for the posed photos only and have friends and/or family members take the candids. |
