| jroberdeau | Posted - 24 January 2000 16:36 OK, I've been trying on wedding dresses for 3 weekends now. It is so much fun! There are so many beautiful dresses, and I love trying them all on. But now I'm getting down to where I actually have to pick just one. How can I possibly pick just one??!!! There are about 5 that I think are gorgeous and totally me. I guess that means that I could pick any one of them and be happy, but I want to feel strongly about the dress I choose. Any suggestions on how to decide which dress is the dress that I will forever see myself in wedding pictures in? | | Amanda | Posted - 24 January 2000 17:1 When I found my dress, I had it narrowed down to two, both of which I loved. The sales person held the dresses for me, my family and I went to dinner. I called my MOH and my mother-in-law to be to come and help with the decision. When I tried them on the second time, I KNEW which one I loved and wanted the most. Hopefully, you will be able to do the same thing!! Good luck!! Amanda | | Jeanna | Posted - 24 January 2000 17:3 Lucky you to have found that many dresses that look great on you. Does your fiance have a particular idea of what he'd like for you to wear, i.e., neckline, sleeves, etc.? That might help. If you have time, it might be good for you to take a while before you decide because sometimes you like something, then after researching a little more, you see that you like something better. Happy choosing! | | Courtney | Posted - 24 January 2000 20:32 I second Amanda's opinion -- bring friends and/or family! Make sure to have an odd number of people there in case there's a tie. I'm sloan's MOH and we thought she'd decided on a dress. When her future mother-in-law and sister-in-law came to town from AL to see her choice, it turned out that there was another one she liked better and it really helped to have the opinions of the women who love her. It's kind of weird, though, even though I liked the first dress better (as far as design goes), I had to admit that the second one (which was the favorite of the MIL and SIL) looked FABULOUS on her and that's the one she chose.Happy hunting! I decided on my dress and took my mom to show it to her. I tried on 5 dresses that I loved, and saved the best for last. I put it on and came out and my mom started crying and said "oh, that is the one. it is perfect" and she didn't even know it was the one I loved best too --- so that was definately the clincher for me. | | sloan | Posted - 26 January 2000 9:52 Courtney always says "If the dress makes your mom cry, that's the one." And I believe it. | | dot | Posted - 28 January 2000 10:37 I waited a week or two- there were several I really liked, and the whole time a certain dress was on my mind... When I went back in, I tried it on again and my brain said go for it! dot.... http://www.avana.net/~bluridge/wedding2.htm
| | michele | Posted - 28 January 2000 10:54 I had to decide between two favorites. Both the dresses were non-traditional, but one eventually emerged as more romantic than the other. At first, I was ready to flip a coin and let fate decide, but my Mom nearly had a heart attack at the thought of flipping a coin for it. We went to lunch to daydream and came back with a decision. I think whatever you decide, the factors that influence your decision will be as unique as the dress you decide on. Good Luck, Michele Edited by - michele on 01/28/2000 10:55:49 AM |
